Foxit AI Assistant is designed to streamline document workflows and enhance productivity. Powered by Azure OpenAI GPT and Gemini, it helps users work more efficiently by answering questions, performing document operations, generating content, and supporting advanced task execution.
Core Features
The Foxit AI Assistant subscription consists of two main modules: AI Assistant in Reader and Foxit Workspace. Each module provides distinct capabilities that support different types of content handling and task completion.
AI Assistant in Reader
The AI Assistant in Reader combines an agent-based conversational interface with integrated features in the AI Assistant tab to help users understand, navigate, and work with document content more efficiently. It supports natural-language interactions and advanced content generation, while also providing built-in tools that enhance comprehension and workflow productivity. Key features include:
- Advanced agent-based conversational Q&A: Ask questions and receive detailed, real-time responses. Supports Loop, Memory, Long Context, Compress Context, and tool calling.
- Preset and custom skills: Includes preset skills for summarization, translation, rewriting, JavaScript action analysis, and more. Users can also create custom skills for specialized workflows.
- Generation modes: Create images or diagrams directly through chat.
- MCP connectors: Connect to external apps and services in Desktop Client, including Connector Manager and local connector configuration.
- Local AI with BYOM and SLMs: Provide strict data security by keeping document content within the user’s environment while giving users control over which AI models run through custom models with Bring Your Own Model (BYOM) and enabling efficient on-device processing with SLMs.
- Document translation: Translates full documents into multiple supported languages.
- Read Aloud: Reads documents or summaries aloud.
- Smart Podcast: Converts document content into a two-person conversational audio format.
Foxit Workspace
Foxit Workspace is an intelligent workbench designed to help users complete real tasks, not just chat. It creates a closed loop that reviews source materials, extracts information, maintains context, drafts content, and produces reusable and sharable outputs to drive work forward. Tip: Foxit Workspace is available on your web browser, or on your desktop (separate installation required).
- Project-based workflow: Organizes work into Projects containing Materials (Sources) and Crafts (AI-generated artifacts).
- Multi-source data management: Supports PDFs, Word, Excel, PPT, Markdown, text, images, and URLs.
- Information extraction: Extracts fields, sections, conclusions, and related content across multiple sources.
- Content creation: Drafts manuals, reports, plans, notes, and web pages.
- Multimodal artifact generation: Produces images, charts, slides, infographics, web pages, Markdown documents, and flashcards.
- Agent workflow support: Integrates Skills, Web Search, MCP, and Multi-Model capabilities.
- Artifact lifecycle management: Crafts can be edited, converted, shared, and versioned.
